As part of the action plan developed in partnership with Fiocruz, the Ministry of Agrarian Development (MDA), GIZ, and the International Labour Organization (ILO), Brasil Ceras continues to play a strategic role in strengthening the carnauba value chain — with a strong focus on the socio-productive inclusion of extractivists and family farmers.
🔍 2025 Highlights
One of the major highlights of 2025 has been the active participation of the interinstitutional management group, composed of public and private entities and carnauba powder producers. This group meets monthly to monitor and refine collective actions.
✅ Key Results Supported by Brasil Ceras:
- Identification of training needs through a participatory diagnosis, guiding courses to be delivered by SENAR;
- Support in the documentation of rural workers, focusing on issuing and updating the Family Farming Registry (CAF);
- Publication of a list of certified leaf-beating machines to improve safety and facilitate access for extractivists;
- Development of proposals to overcome labor shortages in carnauba family farming;
- Creation of audiovisual materials to raise awareness about the benefits of formal employment and its link to social programs such as Bolsa Família.
Through this ongoing collaboration, Brasil Ceras reaffirms its commitment to building an ethical, fair, and sustainable supply chain — one that values traditional knowledge, recognizes rural labor, and expands opportunities for those who depend on carnauba extractivism.
🤝 Collective Impact
This collective effort proves that partnerships are key to transforming rural realities and generating lasting positive impacts across the production chain.
